The Washington Post reports that Shinzo Abe and his government have rejected a plan that would allow women to take the imperial throne, despite popular support for the idea. Back to the dollhouse for Aiko!

産経新聞によると、”安倍晋三首相は、政府の「皇室典範に関する有識者会議」（座長・吉川弘之元東大総長）が平成１７年にまとめた、象徴天皇制の維持を目的に女系皇族にも皇位継承権を認めるとの内容の報告書を白紙に戻す方針を決めた。”　安部首相はフジテレビで　”ずっと男系で来た伝統をすぐ変えるかどうか、慎重になるのは当然ではないか”　と言ったそうである。
